Mention the word Kelantan and generally people think of Malay heartland, which will then bring them to think of anothing else the a Muslim hotbed. Actually, being geographically near to Buddhis Thailand, there are many Buddhist in Kelantan. They are all free to practice their religion. In fact, they have some of the most impressive buddhist temples in the country. Just that they do not advertise it, makes those places very attractive to visit. The temples serve as a place of worship, not a commercial entity which owes their exsitence to tourist.
One of the attractions that you should see when you’re in Kelantan is the hand painted batik. The more complicated the designs, the more expensive the batik cloth would be.

Market stalls in Kelantan, a state in the east coast of Malaysia, is mostly run by the womenfolk. The markets are unique in a sense that the women will sit on an elevated platform surrounded by their goods. Normally the traders will stand behind their stall but in Kelantan, traders sit on their stall.
